[Abstract] Objective To explore the changes of neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio(NLR), serum C-reactive protein(CRP) and interleukin-6(IL-6) levels in peripheral blood of patients with Alzheimer's disease(AD) and their clinical significance. Methods A total of 68 patients with AD admitted to our hospital from January 2016 to December 2018 were selected as study subjects(AD group), and 30 patients with vascular dementia were selected as control group(VD group), and 30 healthy elderly patients in our hospital were selected as healthy control group. AD patients were divided into mild group, moderate group and severe group according to the clinical dementia scale. The levels of NLR, CRP and IL-6 in each group were compared. Pearson correlation analysis of the results was conducted. Results The levels of CRP and IL-6 in AD group were significantly higher than those in VD group and healthy control group(P<0.05). The level of NLR in peripheral blood of patients in AD group and VD group was significantly higher than that of healthy control group(P<0.05), but there was no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05). The levels of CRP and IL-6 in the severe subgroup were higher than those in the moderate subgroup, and the levels in the moderate subgroup were higher than those of the mild subgroup, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). There were no statistically significant differences among the NLR groups(P>0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that the NLR of AD patients was positively correlated with CRP and IL-6(r=0.457, 0.762, P<0.05). Conclusion The levels of NLR, CRP and IL-6 in peripheral blood of AD patients increased, and with the development of the disease, serum CRP and IL-6 levels increased abnormally, which may participate in the pathogenesis of AD. detection of NLR, CRP and IL-6 levels has certain reference value for the evaluation and treatment of AD., http://www.100md.com(杜更胜)
