    ObjectiveMesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)are adult multipotent cells of great interest in the areas of regenerative medicine and cell therapy.Recent advances in understanding of the paracrine mechanisms and cytokine modulation of MSCs suggest many potential clinical applications.For example,hypoxia affects several MSC activities,including the cell cycle,differentiation,paracrine signaling,and gene expression.Our understanding of MSCs has taken great strides forward,even to the creation of their niche by a complex of secreted cytokines.This review focuses on these advances ......
